2017 has been a year of new things for me.
Before the first quarter ended, I’d gone to live in a new place. At my age, I needed to relearn how to fit in. I experienced the seasons. It was spring when I arrived, then it was summer, then autumn, now it’s winter. I celebrated Thanksgiving for the first time, albeit still without roasted whole turkey and the fixins it came with.
I got conned too. Not a circumstance I will cherish but one I definitely learned much from and one I swear I will not allow to happen again. I also MC’d myself (right, Carla, Yeyet, Layla?) and while it was indeed liberating, I … uh… it was liberating. Period. Hah!
Also, for the first time in years, our family was complete. Well, as complete as can be because we were missing the two foster sons.
There was much I wasn’t able to achieve, yet there were still a number I have been able to score. It was a good year, all in all. Not the best, but there’s always room for improvement. So goodbye, 2017. Thank you. And I look forward to the coming year, hopeful, joyful, filled with excitement.
Wishing one and all a happy, blessed, and prosperous New Year!
